Darkness filled the hall, The air seemed heavy. Chase stepped along the wooden floor. It was hard to breathe, he couldn’t tell if it was the air itself or fear making his windpipe feel closed. His heartbeat quickened as he neared the end of the hall. He could hear music. A twisted carnival theme. Red light filled his eyes as his hand reached to the doorknob.He could hear whispers in his ears. Chase pressed on, eager to find the end to this sick maze. He shook his head, trying to block out the sounds. His footsteps made a thud on the floor. He rounded the corner. Chase screamed. It’s all he could do. In front of him, the glitched demon. The slit necked man held each of his children’s hands. They stood silent, tears rolling down their cheeks. ‘’NO!! Let them go! Not them!!’’ Chase sobbed. Their voices, clear as day but their mouths unmoving. His daughter,’ Don’t be sad daddy, We are going with uncle Anti.’’ Her sweet little face, tearstained, her eyes begging for him to help her.
Her shoes clicked up the driveway. No cars, she was alone. The pink haired girl slipped inside the house, locking the door behind her. The air was stale, a sickening waft of putrid coffee hit her nose. She sighed and made her way up the steps. A pink door, her refuge, and yet...her prison. Inside, soft white walls, her pink pastel bedspread and her small stack of schoolbooks. Her ears picked up the sound of an engine. Scrambling, she gathered her bookbag and retreated to the closet. Behind the dresses she stayed silent, Warm tears welling in the corners of her eyes. Footsteps down the hallway. She put her hand over her mouth as to not be heard, or to stop the sound of her crying. ‘’Natsuki! NATSUKI!’’ the voice of her father boomed through the hall. ‘’Dumb girl...she was told to be home!’’ Natsuki counted the footsteps as he walked away. She knew she had not much time. She threw open her schoolbag and grabbed her clothes from her closet and dresser, cramming as much as she could
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Her clubmate’s words buzzed in her head. ‘ What if this was all just a dream? or ..a game? Like we aren't in control?’ She pulled her arms around her knees, bent up to her chest. Tears rolled down her cheeks as she thought about her friends. Why would Monika say something like that? It seemed as if a voice was echoing in her brain. ‘ don't you want to know? ‘ It asked. Sayori stood from her bed, She was not sure why. Her legs felt light as she stepped to her wall. Like she was floating almost. She was not sure when she raised her arms and pressed her hands to the wall, or why. Little sparks rose from the pressure along her hands. She jumped back. Was it true? Was what Monika had said, real? She grabbed at her hair, not knowing what to think anymore. Her stomach turned. She felt like throwing up. Her body shook as her mind struggled to find the truth in the very things around her. ‘’A.. game....’’ Sayori couldn't remember
Spellbooks littered the table, scorch marks painted the walls. The curtains singed at the bottom and sides. The door clicked open .Boots thumped along the wood floor. The magician pulled his mask over his face, looking over a book. He had been working for months. He poured over books, shot failed versions of the spells over and over, His right hand bearing the burns from the flames when they backfired. Tonight seemed no different.
Marvin slammed his fists on the table in frustration. He turned the pages of a book. perhaps a new spell would shake his slump. As he flipped the pages something caught his eye. A black book. He had not owned a bl
‘ So its agreed, You take me to where he’s hiding..and ill keep you safe’ JJ nodded and smiled. Jackie pulled his hood up and walked toward the sidewalk. JJ led the way, down alleyways and around turns, stopping at what seemed to be an empty building. ‘Seems fitting..’ Mumbled Jackie as he stepped up to the door. JJ stepped in front of him, pushing the old, splintered door open to reveal a dark staircase. JJ pointed up. Jackie took to the stairs, each one creaking under him. At the top was another closed door. a soft green glow shown from under it. JJ pulled a key from his vest pocket and set it in the lock, turn
